MEMORANDUM OF CONSIDERATION OF APPLICATION BEFORE THE AFBCMR
SUBJECT:
Having carefully reviewed this application, we agree with the recommendation of the Air
Force and adopt the rationale expressed as the basis for our decision that the applicant-has been
the victim of either an error or an injustice. Therefore, under the authority delegated in AFI 36-
2603, the applicant's records will be corrected as set forth in the accompanying Memorandum for
the Chief of Staff signed by the Executive Director or his designee.

SUBJECT: Asplication for Correction of Milita
1. The requested correction cannot be accomplished administratively at this headquarters.
2. The applicant is requesting correction of the Retentiometirement (WR) year data from
18 February 1997 through 17 February 1998, to show a year of satisfactory Federal service.
3. The following is an analysis of the circumstances surrounding the case:
a. The applicant scheduled
his R/R date.
training so all requirements would be met using 29 March as
b. An audit of the applicant’s point history revealed 18 February as the correct R/R date. A
letter stating this change, dated 3 1 January 1998, was sent to the applicant.

c. The applicant did not have sufficient time to reschedule training to conform to the new R/R
date, but continued to participate in good faith. He would have had a satisfactory year of Federal
service if the R/R date had not been changed.
d. Currently the point data shows 4 Active Duty (AD) training points, 12 Inactive Duty
Training (IDT) points and 15 membership points, for a total of 31 points for Retirement Year
Ending 17 February 1998.
4. Recommend this application be approved and 19 non-paid IDT points be added. The
applicant's record would then show 4 AD points, 3 1 IDT points and 15 membership points
resulting in 50 retirement points and a year of satisfactory Federal service for the period
18 February 1997 through 17 February 1998.
5. If this application is disapproved, no further action is necessary.
