Having carehlly reviewed this application, we agree with the recommendation of the Air
Force and adopt the rationale expressed as the basis for our decision that the applicant has been the
victim of either an error or an injustice. Therefore, under the authority delegated in MI 36-2603,
the applicant's records will be corrected as set forth in the accompanying Memorandum for the
Chief of Staff signed by the Executive Director or his designee.

SUBJECT: Application for Correction of Military Record,
1. The requested correction cannot be accomplished
administratively at this headquarters.
2. The applicant is requesting , receive a satisfactory year of
service for the period of 2 March 1997 to 1 March 1998.
3 . The following is an analysis of the circumstances surrounding
the case:
a. The applicant missed five Unit Training Assemblies (UTAs)
was on a medical profile from 31 May 1997 to
because
6 December 1997.
b. The Surgeon General's office at our Headquarters reviewed
the medical documentation submitted with the applicant's request.
Their interpretation is provided
4 . The applicant participated before and after medical profile
in good faith.
5. Recommend this application be approved, award 1 non-paid
Inactive Duty Training (IDT) points for Retirement Year Ending
(RYE) 1 March 1998. The applicant's record would then show
6 Active Duty points, 2 9 IDT points, 0 Extension Course Institute
points and 15 membership points resulting in 50 total and
retirement points and a year of satisfactory Federal service for
RYE 1 March 1998.
6. If this application is disapproved, no further action is
necessary.
