MEMORANDUM OF CONSIDERATION OF APPLICATION BEFORE THE AFBCMR
SUBJECT:
Having carefully reviewed this application, we agree with the recommendation of the Air
Staff and adopt the rationale expressed as the basis for our decision that the applicant has been
the victim of either an error or an injustice. Therefore, under the authority delegated in AFI 36-
2603, the applicant's records will be corrected as set forth in the accompanying Memorandum for
the Chief of Staff signed by the Executive Director of the Board or his designee.

The following is an analysis of the circumstances surrounding the

a. The applicant was appointed in the Air Force Reserve on
Hurricane Andrew destroyed member's training facility at
27 March as an Individual Mobilization Augmentee (IMA). Member did
not receive his appointment letter attaching him to Homestead AFB
until 15 July 1992, approximately 5 months after his commissioning
date. Member performed Inactive duty training (IDT) on 13 and 14
August 1992.

18 September, member scheduled his active duty and IDT training
according to the 18 September R/R date.

may only be credited to the date a member actually performed the duty,
except in those activities where the cumulative method is authorized.
