FROM: HQ AFPCDPSFC

550 C Street West Ste 37
Randolph AFB TX 78150-4739

SUBJECT: Application for Correction of Military Records

Requested Action and Basis for Request. Restore 8 days charged leave 2 - 9 Aug 98.

Applicant states this should be PTDY for house hunting upon arrival at Langley AFB VA.

Facts and Discussion. Air Force policy authorizes PTDY for house hunting purposes

either before signing out of the old station or after signing in at the new station. Applicant
er commander authorizing
provided copy of AF Form 988 dated 13 A
on 1 Aug 98. Applicant did
PTDY for house hunting following arrival
the house hunting before signing in at the unit. "herdore, finance charged 8 days leave 2-9
Aug 98. In this case, we support granting relief because military personnel flight personnel
misinformed the applicant to do her house hunting and then sign in at her unit.

Recommendation. Approve restoring 8 days to current leave account.

Restore 2 days charged leave for 25-26 Mar 98. When she reported in at the military personnel flight, finance allowed 3 days travel time 27 - 29 Mar 98 and charged 2 days leave, 25- 26 Mar 98. In this case, we support granting relief because the Air Force should not penalize the applicant for erroneous information received at the orderly room.
