MEMORANDUM OF CONSIDERATION OF APPLICATION BEFORE THE AFBCMR
SUBJECT :
Having carefully reviewed this application, we agree with the
recommendation of the Air Force and adopt the rationale expressed
as the basis for our decision that the applicant has been the
victim of either an error or an injustice. Therefore, under the
authority delegated in AFI 36-2603, the applicant's records will
be corrected as set forth in the accompanying Memorandum for the
Chief of Staff signed by the Executive Director of the Board or
his designee.

Facts and Discussion. The travel voucher shows applicant departe-
on 8 Nov 97. Finance charged 13 days leave for 8 - 20 Nov 97. The memorandum from the
unit shows applicant arrived at -at
1800 on 10 Nov 97 and reported in at the
unit on 12 Nov since 11 Nov was Veterans’ day. It also shows applicant was authorized 8
days PTDY for house hunting purposes, and supports granting relief because the applicant was
not on regular leave status 8 - 20 Nov 97. Air Force policy allows the gaining commander to
grant up to 8 days PTDY for house hunting after the member arrives and signs in at the new
duty station. In this case, we support granting relief because finance would not have charged
leave if the applicant had signed in immediately upon arriving a
Recommendation. Approve restoring 13 days to current leave account.
