records will be corrected as set forth in the accompanying

SUBJECT: Application for Correction of Military Records -

Requested Action and Basis for Request. Reinstate 8 days charged as leave upon

arrival at Pensacola NAS FL from Minot AFB ND. Applicant states finance charged leave
although losing commander authorized 8 days PTDY for house hunting purposes.

Facts and Discussion. Authorized PTDY for house hunting purposes is either 10 days

before signing out of Minot AFB ND or 8 days after signing in at Pensacola NAS FL.
Although the losing commander authorized 8 days PTDY, finance correctly charged leave
because Air Force policy prohibits taking PTDY after departing Minot AFB ND and before
signing in at Pensacola NAS FL. In this case, we support granting relief because the gaining
commander would have granted 8 days PTDY if the applicant had first signed in at the
Pensacola NAS.

Recommendation. Approve restoring 8 days to current leave account.

Chief, Commanders’ Programs Branch
