1. Pursuant to the provisions of reference (a), Sul~ject hereinafter referred to as Petitioner,
filed enclosure ( 1 ) with this Board requesting, in effect, that the al)plicable naval record be
corrected to establish entitlement to an increased amount of zone " A " Selective Reenlistment
Bonus (SRB) for the AD rating.
2. The Board, consisting of Mr. McPartlin, Mr. Milner, and Ms. Hare, reviewed
Petitioner's allegations of error and i11.justice on 18 June 2002 and. pursuant to its
regulations, deter~ninecl that the corrective action indicated below should be taken o n the
available evidence of record. Docu~nentiiry material consitlerecl b y the Board consisted of the
enclosures, naval records, and applicable statutes, regi~lations and policies.
3. The Board, having reviewed all the facts of record pertaining to Petitioner's allegations
of error and illjustice, tinds as follows:
a. P,cfore applying to this Rnnrd, Petitioner exhausted all administrative remedies
available under existing law and regulations within tlie Department of the Navy.
b.
In correspondence attached as enclosure (2), tlie office having cognizance over the
subject matter addressed i n Petitioner's application has commented to the effect that the
request has merit and warrants favorable action.
CONCLUSION
Upon review and consideration of all the evidence of record, and especially in light of the
contents of enclosure ( 2 ) , the Board tinds the existence of an i~~justice warranting the
following corrective action.

RECOMMENDATION:
That Petitioner's naval record he corrected, wlieri appropriate, to show that:
a. The reenlist~nent cxecutetl on or ahout 30 Septeniber 2001 is for a term of 6 years,
vice 4 years.
b. This change will entitle petitioner to an increased amount of zone " A " SR13, award
level 1 .O, for the AD rating.
c. That a copy of this Report of Proceedings be tiled in Petitioner's naval record.
4 . Pursuant to Section 6(c) of the revised Procedures of the Board for Correction of Naval
Records (32 Code of Federal Regulations, Section 723.6(c)) it is certified that quorum was
present at the Board's review and delilwrations, and that the foregoing is a true and co~nplete
