1.  Pursuant  to  tlie  provisions of  reference  (a), Sul!ject  hereinafter  referred  to  as  Petitioner, 
filed enclosure  ( 1 )   with  tliis  Board  requesting,  in  effect, that  tlie applicable naval  record  be 
corrected  to  establish  entitle~iient to  an  increased  a~iioi~nt ot' zolit: ".4" Selective  Reenlist~iient 
Boni~s (SRB) for tlie Sh4  rating. 

2.  Tlie Board,  consisting  of  Mr.  Mcl'artlin.  Mr.  Milner,  antl  Ms.  Hare,  reviewed 
Petitioner's  allegations of  error  and  illjustice on  18 June 2002  antl,  pursuant  to  its 
regulatioris,  determined  that  tlie  corrective  action  indicated  below  should be  taken  on  the 
available evidence of  record.  Documentary  material  considered  by  the  Board  consisted  of the 
enclosures,  naval  records,  and  applicable statutes,  regulations  and  policies. 

3.  Tlie  Board,  Iiaving  reviewed  all  tlie  facts of  record  pertaining  to  Petitioner's  allegations 
of  error and  injustice,  tinds as  follows:

available  under  existing  law  and  regulations  within  the  Departnient  of  the  Navy.

In  correspondence  attached  as enclosure  (2), tlie  office having  cognizance over  the 

subject  tilatter addressed  in  Petitioner's application  has  commented  to  tlie effect  that  the 
request  has  merit  and  warrants  favorable action. 

CONCLUSION 

Upon  review  and  consideration of  all  tlie evidence of  record,  and  especially  in  light of  the 
contents of enclosure (2). the  Board  finds  the existence o f  an  irij ustice  warranting  the 
following corrective action.

RECOMMENDATION: 

That  Peti timer's  naval  record  he  corrected,  wheri appropriate,  to  show  that: 

a.  He  was  discharged  arid  reenlisted  on  1 11 12 Novemher  200 1  (EAOS), vice  on  or 

about  25/26 November  2001.  The  term  re11i;iins 6  years. 

b.  This change  will  entitle  memher  to  an  increased  a~iiount of  zone  "A" SRB, award 

level  2.0, for  the SM  rating. 

c. 

'That  a copy  of  this  Report  of  Proceedings be  filed  in  Petitioner's  naval  record. 

4 .   Pursuant  to  Section  6(c) of  the  revised  Procedures  of  the  Board  for  Correction  of  Naval 
Records  (32 Code of  Federal  Regulations, Section  723.6(c)) i t   is  certified  that  quorum  was 
present  at  the  Board's  review  and  deliberations,  and  that  the  foregoing  is a  true  and  complete

of  the  Board  for  Correction  of  Naval  Records  (32 Code of  Federal  Regulations,  Section 
723.6(e)) and  having  assured  compliance  with  its provisions,  i t   is hereby  announced  that  the 
foregoing corrective  action,  taken  under  the authority  of  reference  (a), has  been  approved  by 
the  Board  on  behalf  of  the  Secretary  of  the  Navy.
