I . ?'ursuant to the provisions o i reterence (a), Subject hereinafter referred to as Petirioner,
tiled enclosure ( 1 ) with this Board requesting, in effect, that tlie applicable naval record be
corrected to show enlistment i n a Iiiglwr paygrade.
2. The 13oard, consisting of h4essrs. hlcPartlin, hlilner, and h4s. Hare, reviewed
Petitioner's allegations of error antl injustice on 18 June 2002 antl, pursuant lo its regulations,
determined that tlie corrective action indicated below should be taken on tlie available
evidence of record. Documentary ~naterial consitlered by tlie Boartl consisted of tlie
enclosures, naval records, and applicable statutes, regulations and policies.
3. The Boartl, having reviewed all tlie frtcls of record perlaining to Petitioner's allegations
of error and iri.jl~stice, finds as follows:
a. Before applying to this Boartl, Petitioner exhausted all administrative remedies
available under existing law antl regulations within the Department of tlie Navy.
b.
In correspondence attached as enclosure (2), tlie oftice having cognizance over the
subject matter addressed in Petitioner's application has commented to tlie effect that the
request has merit and warrants favorable action.
CONCLUSION
Upon review and consideration of all tlie evidence of record, and especially in light of the
contents of enclosure (2), tlie Board finds tlie existence of an injustice warranting the
following corrective action.
