2. The applicant requests that her enlistment contract be corrected to show she enlisted for 2 years and 00 weeks. She states that she originally enlisted for 6 years but it was changed at the Reception Station to 2 years and 00 weeks.
3. The applicant enlisted in the Delayed Entry Program on 31 May 2001 for training in military occupational specialty (MOS) 68D. Her DD Form 4/1, Enlistment/Reenlistment Contract, item 8a shows that she was to enlist in the Regular Army for not less than 6 years and 00 weeks.
4. The applicant enlisted in the Regular Army on 7 June 2001. Her DD Form 4/3, item 20a reflects that she enlisted for 6 years.
5. The applicant’s Record of Military Processing, DD Form 1966/4, indicates that she renegotiated her contract at the Reception Station from training in MOS 68D to training in MOS 54B and from a 6-year commitment to a 2-year commitment.
CONCLUSIONS:
1. The evidence of record shows the applicant originally enlisted for 6 years and 00 weeks but renegotiated her contract to change her training option and enlistment commitment. Her DD Forms 4/1 and 4/3 should be corrected to reflect the change to a 2-year enlistment.
2. In view of the foregoing, the applicant’s records should be corrected as recommended below.
RECOMMENDATION:
1. That the applicant’s DD Form 4/1 dated 31 May 2001, item 8a be corrected to show she was to enlist in the Regular Army for not less than 2 years and 00 weeks and that her DD Form 4/3 dated 7 June 2001, item 20a be corrected to show she enlisted in the Regular Army for 2 years and 00 weeks.
