2. The applicant requests that her enlistment contract be corrected to show she enlisted for 3 years and 00 weeks.
3. The applicant states, in effect, that her enlistment contract erroneously shows she enlisted for 4 years and 00 weeks.
4. The applicant’s U. S. Army Recruiting Command reservation sheets and Statement for Enlistment United States Army Training Enlistment Program DA Form 3286-63, show that she enlisted in the Regular Army on 9 January 2002 for 3 years and 00 weeks. Her Enlistment/Reenlistment Contract, DD Form 4/1, item 8a, and DD Form 4/3, item 20a erroneously shows she enlisted for 4 years and 00 weeks.
5. In support of her request the applicant submits a memorandum for record from the U. S. Army Recruiting Command Liaison (USAREC) confirming that the years of service on her contract should be 3 years and 00 weeks.
CONCLUSIONS:
1. There is an administrative error on the applicant’s DD Form 4/1, and DD Form 4/3. The evidence of record shows she enlisted on 9 January 2002 for 3 years and 00 weeks, not 4 years and 00 weeks.
2. In view of the foregoing, the applicant’s records should be corrected as recommended below.
RECOMMENDATION:
That all of the Department of the Army records related to this case be corrected by changing the applicant’s DD Form 4/1, item 8a and DD Form 4/3 item 20a dated 9 January 2002, to show she enlisted for 3 years and 00 weeks.
