         The applicant and counsel if any, did not appear before the Board.

         The Board considered the following evidence:

         Exhibit A - Application for correction of military
records
         Exhibit B - Military Personnel Records (including
         advisory opinion, if any)

FINDINGS :

1. The applicant has exhausted or the Board has waived the requirement for exhaustion of all administrative remedies afforded by existing law or regulations.


2. The applicant requests that her enlistment contract be corrected to show she enlisted for 5 years and 00 weeks.

3. The applicant states that her military occupational specialty (MOS) option was changed after she enlisted, changing her enlistment commitment from 4 years to 5 years.

4. The applicant’s Statement for Enlistment United States Army Training Enlistment Program, DA Form 3286-63, shows that she was originally to enlist in the Regular Army for training in MOS 91W (Health Care Specialist) for 4 years. Her Enlistment/Reenlistment Contract, DD Form 4/3, item 20a shows she enlisted in the Regular Army on 4 September 2001 for 4 years and 00 weeks. On 6 September 2001, that enlistment commitment was voided and her training option was changed to MOS 91Q (Pharmacy Specialist) with an attendant term of enlistment of 5 years and 00 weeks.

CONCLUSIONS:

1. The evidence of record shows the applicant enlisted in the Regular Army on 4 September 2001 for 4 years and 00 weeks but on 6 September 2001 her training option was changed, requiring a term of enlistment of 5 years and 00 weeks.

2. In view of the foregoing, the applicant’s records should be corrected as recommended below.

RECOMMENDATION:

That the applicant’s DD Form 4/3 dated 4 September 2001, item 20a be corrected to show she enlisted for 5 years and 00 weeks.
