The Board considered the following evidence:

THE APPLICANT'S REQUEST, STATEMENT, AND EVIDENCE:
1. The applicant requests, in effect, correction of his enlistment
contract to show he enlisted for 4 years and 20 weeks.
2. The applicant states, in effect, that his enlistment contract
erroneously shows he enlisted for 3 years and 20 weeks.
3. The applicant provides a Memorandum for Record from Headquarters, U.S.
Army Recruiting Command (USAREC) Liaison at Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri,
dated 28 September 2005; a statement of understanding, dated 28 September
2005; his reservation sheet, dated 10 September 2005; his DD Form 4/1
(Enlistment/Reenlistment Document), dated 10 September 2005; and his DD
Form 4/3 (continuation of DD Form 4/1), dated 22 September 2005.
CONSIDERATION OF EVIDENCE:
1. The applicant's USAREC reservation sheet shows he would enlist in the
Regular Army on 10 September 2005 for 4 years and 20 weeks. His DD Form
4/3 shows he enlisted in the Regular Army on 22 September 2005 for 3 years
and 20 weeks.
2. The Memorandum for Record, dated 28 September 2005, from Headquarters,
USAREC Liaison, 43rd Adjutant General Battalion (Reception) at Fort Leonard
Wood, Missouri states in accordance with Army Regulation 601-210, paragraph
8-6(f), the term of enlistment, item 20a, Section F of the applicant's DD
Form 4/3, reads 3 years and 20 weeks and needs to be corrected to read 4
years and 20 weeks.
3. The applicant provided a statement of understanding, dated 28 September
2005, wherein he acknowledged that he understood the available options
under his enlistment, that he wanted the requested change made, and that
the request was made without coercion and for his benefit.
DISCUSSION AND CONCLUSIONS:
The applicant's DD Form 4/3 incorrectly shows he enlisted in the Regular
Army for 3 years and 20 weeks. The memorandum from USAREC Liaison at Fort
Leonard Wood, Missouri verifies that he enlisted for 4 years and 20 weeks.
Therefore, it would be equitable to amend his enlistment contract to show 4
years and 20 weeks.

BOARD DETERMINATION/RECOMMENDATION:
The Board determined that the evidence presented was sufficient to warrant
a recommendation for relief. As a result, the Board recommends the records
of the individual concerned be corrected by amending his DD Form 4/3 to
show that he enlisted in the Regular Army for a period of 4 years and 20
weeks.
