2. The applicant requests that his enlistment contract be corrected to show he enlisted for 4 years and 00 weeks. He states that he changed his military occupational specialty (MOS) which changed his enlistment commitment from 6 years to 4 years.
3. The applicant enlisted in the Delayed Entry Program on 22 January 2001 for training in an MOS that required a 6-year commitment. His DD Form 4/1, Enlistment/Reenlistment Contract, item 8a shows that he was to enlist in the Regular Army for not less than 6 years and 00 weeks.
4. The applicant enlisted in the Regular Army on 6 July 2001. His DD Form 4/3, item 20a reflects that he enlisted for 6 years and 00 weeks.
5. The U. S. Army Recruiting Command Liaison Noncommissioned Officer has stated that the applicant renegotiated his contract to training in MOS 75F and from a 6-year commitment to a 4-year commitment.
CONCLUSIONS:
1. The evidence of record shows the applicant originally enlisted for 6 years and 00 weeks but renegotiated his contract to change his training option and enlistment commitment. His DD Forms 4/1 and 4/3 should be corrected to reflect the change to a 4-year enlistment.
2. In view of the foregoing, the applicant’s records should be corrected as recommended below.
RECOMMENDATION:
That the applicant’s DD Form 4/1 dated 22 January 2001, item 8a be corrected to show he was to enlist in the Regular Army for not less than 4 years and 00 weeks and that his DD Form 4/3 dated 6 July 2001, item 20a be corrected to show he enlisted in the Regular Army for 4 years and 00 weeks.
