It was also the identification number entered in the service record that was created on him upon his entry on active duty, and in all the orders and documents published throughout his tenure on active duty that are filed in his Military Personnel Records Jacket (MPRJ). The evidence of records confirms that the applicant’s current verified SSN is consistent with the one...

This Board is normally reluctant to recommend that those records be changed. The DD Form 214 issued to the applicant on the date of his separation from the Army lists a SSN in addition to his service number. The listed SSN differs from the one recorded in the applicant’s social security card. The evidence of records confirms that his service number was recorded in the military documents prepared and published throughout his active duty service and that the only military record document that contains a SSN is the DD Form 214 issued to him upon his separation.
