         BOARD DATE: 4 December 2001

The following members, a quorum, were present:

The applicant and counsel if any, did not appear before the Board.

The Board considered the following evidence:

Exhibit A - Application for correction of military
records
Exhibit B - Military Personnel Records (including
         advisory opinion, if any)

FINDINGS :

1. The applicant has exhausted or the Board has waived the requirement for exhaustion of all administrative remedies afforded by existing law or regulations.

2. The applicant requests that his DD Form 4/3, Enlistment/Reenlistment Document, item 20a be corrected to show that he enlisted for a period of 4 years and 00 weeks.

3. The applicant states, in effect, that his DD Form 4/3, item 20a erroneously shows he enlisted for 8 years and 00 weeks.

4. The applicant’s U. S. Army Recruiting Command reservation sheet shows that he enlisted in the Regular Army on 8 November 2001 for 4 years and 00 weeks. His Enlistment/Reenlistment Document DD Form 4/3 erroneously shows that he enlisted for 8 years and 00 weeks.

CONCLUSIONS:

1. There is an administrative error on the applicant’s DD Form 4/3. The evidence of record shows he enlisted on 8 November 2001 for 4 years and
00 weeks, not 8 years and 00 weeks.

2. In view of the foregoing, the applicant’s records should be corrected as recommended below.

RECOMMENDATION:

That the applicant’s DD Form 4/3, item 20a be corrected to show he enlisted for 4 years and 00 weeks.
