RECORD OF PROCEEDINGS
AIR FORCE BOARD FOR CORRECTION OF MILITARY RECORDS
IN THE MATTER OF: DOCKET NUMBER: BC-2003-03287
XXXXXXX COUNSEL: NONE
XXXXXXX HEARING DESIRED: NO
_________________________________________________________________
APPLICANT REQUESTS THAT:
Her Home of Record (HOR) be changed from Cedar Falls, Iowa to XXXXXXX,
Iowa.
_________________________________________________________________
THE APPLICANT CONTENDS THAT:
Her current HOR is the college address where she previously resided.
Applicant’s complete submission, with attachments, is at Exhibit A.
_________________________________________________________________
STATEMENT OF FACTS:
Applicant enlisted in the Air Force Reserve under the Delayed Enlistment
Program (DEP) on 14 August 2002. DD Form 4/1, Enlistment/Reenlistment
Document, reflects Cedar Falls, Iowa, as her HOR. She was honorably
discharged from the DEP and enlisted in the Regular Air Force on 18
February 2003.
_________________________________________________________________
THE BOARD CONCLUDES THAT:
1. The applicant has exhausted all remedies provided by existing law or
regulations.
2. The application was timely filed.
3. Sufficient relevant evidence has been presented to demonstrate the
existence of error or injustice. In this respect, we note that at the time
of the applicant’s enlistment in the Air Force Reserve, Delayed Enlistment
Program, she listed Cedar Falls, Iowa, as her HOR. It appears the address
on the DD Form 4/1 was her address while she was attending college, rather
than her official home address. In view of this, and since she did pursue
correction of this error in a timely manner following her enlistment in the
Regular Air Force, we recommend her records be corrected to the extent
indicated below.
_________________________________________________________________
THE BOARD RECOMMENDS THAT:
The pertinent military records of the Department of the Air Force relating
to APPLICANT be corrected to show that her home of record (HOR) is XXXXXXX,
Iowa, rather than Cedar Falls, Iowa.
