SUBJECT: Atmlication for Correction of Militarv Records
The applicant is requesting a constructive reenlistment effective 11 May 98 with
subsequent entitlement to a Selective Reenlistment Bonus (SRB).
Current directives allow an SRE3 for a reenlistment of three years or more. Also, E-4
personnel in SRB AFSCs must reenlist prior to 9 years of service in order to meet this
requirement. In the applicant's case, the Military Personnel Flight failed to notify the applicant
regarding his reenlistment window of 10-14 May 98. This timeframe was critical since the
applicant is an E-4 who was going over 9 years service on 15 May 98. Consequently, the
applicant did not reenlist and forfeited the SBR entitlement.
We recommend a constructive reenlistment effective 11 May 98 for three years. The AF
Form 901, Reenlistment Eligibility Annex to DD Form 4, Section III(D) should reflect an SRB
Zone B, Mult 1, payable for two years and nine months. The applicant is not entitled to the full
three years due to obligated service he already has based on an original separation date of 10 Aug
98.
