MEMORANDUM OF CONSIDERATION OF APPLICATION BEFORE THE AFBCMR
SUBJECT:
Having carefully reviewed this application, we agree with the recommendation of the Air
Force and adopt the rationale expressed as the basis for ow decision that the applicant has been
the victim of either an error or an injustice. Therefore, under the authority delegated in AFI
36-2603, the applicant's records will be corrected as set forth in the accompanying Memorandum
for the Chief of Staff signed by the Executive Director of the Board or his designee.

SUBJECT: Application for Correction of Military Records
The Applicant is requesting cancellation of his 20 Feb 98 reenlistment and a constructive
reenlistment be granted effective 19 Feb 98 for four years with subsequent entitlement to a
Selective Reenlistment Bonus (SEW).
On 21 Jan 98, HQ USAFDPXPS announced SRB changes which deleted the applicant's
SlU3 effective 20 Feb 98. The Military Personnel Flight failed to notify the applicant of his
eligibility, thereby missing his window of opportunity. As a redt, the applicant reenlisted on 20
Feb 98 with no SRB entitlement.
We recommend the 20 Feb 98 reenlistment be voided. A constructive reenlistment
should be granted effective 19 Feb 98 for four years. The AF Form 901, Reenlistment Eligibility
Annex to DD Form 4, Section III@)
should reflect an SFU3 Zone A, Mult %, payable for three
years and eleven months. The applicant is not entitled to the full four years due to obligated
service he already has based on an original separation date of 23 Feb 98.
