MEMORANDUM OF CONSIDERATION OF APPLICATION BEFORE THE AFBCMR
Having carefully reviewed this application, we agree with the recommendation of the Air
Force Evaluation and adopt the rationale expressed as the basis for our decision that the applicant
has been the victim of either an error or an injustice. Therefore, under the authority delegated in
AFI 36-2603, the applicant's records will be corrected as set forth in the accompanying
Memorandum for the Chief of Staff signed by the Executive Director of the Board or his
designee.

SUBJECT: Application for Correction to Military Records
The applicant is requesting her 1 Oct 98 reenlistment be changed to 2 Oct 98. This will
allow her to collect a Zone B Selective Reenlistment Bonus (SRB) in the pay grade of E-5.
The applicant was erroneously advised by the MPF that reenlisting on 1 Oct 98 would
entitle her to receive an SRB in the pay grade of E-5. However, SRB is paid based on the date
of discharge, as specified in DoD Pay Manual, paragraph 10912. In this case, the applicants
discharge date was 30 Sep 98, one day short of obtaining the E-5 grade. As such, we recommend
the applicant's reenlistment on 1 Oct 98 be voided. A constructive reenlistment should be
granted effective 2 Oct 98 for six years. The AF Form 90, Reenlistment Eligibility Annex to DD
Form 4, Section III(D) should reflect an SRB Zone B Mult 0.5, payable for five years and one
month. The applicant is not entitled to the fbll six years due to obligated service she had based
