APPLICANT CONTENDS THAT:

a thorough review of the evidence of record and applicant’s
submission, we are not persiladed that his DD Form 214 should-be
corrected to reflect any awards and decorations f o r service in
Southwest Asia as req-Jested. We took notice of the applicant’s
complete submission in judging the merits of the case; however,
we agree with the opinions and recommendatlons of t h e Air Force
and adopt their rationale as the basis for our conclusion that
the applicant has not been the victim of an error or injustice.
Therefore, in the absence of evidence to the contrary, we find no
compelling basis to recommend granting the relief scught.

However, the evidence provided has established to our satisfaction that the applicant‘s service during the period in question did warrant recognition by award of the Air Medal and that the recommendation for this award was submitted and lost. RECOMMENDATION. We recommend disapproval of the applicant’s request for award of the Distinguished Flying Cross for 15 Jul45 and the Air Medal for Mar 45-Jul45 and Jun 45-Sep 45.
