THE BOARD ADDITIONALLY FINDS:
15. That based a telephone call from the Defense Finance and Accounting Service (DFAS), the staff of the Board determined that it is appropriate to issue a supplemental statement to the Board’s 23 May 2001 decisional document AR2000042630.
16. DFAS indicated that Recommendation 1d was interpreted as showing that the applicant was entitled to Reserve Retired Pay at age 60.
THE BOARD ADDITIONALLY CONCLUDES:
8. The Board’s previous action was specifically written to afford the applicant credit for 20 years of active federal service and afford him retired pay based upon those 20 years of active federal service. There was no intent to force him to wait until he qualified for a Reserve Retired Pay at age 60.
9. The Board concludes it would be in the interest of justice and correct an inadvertent error to amend the prior decisional document to more clearly reflect the Board’s intent as noted below.
THE BOARD ADDITIONALLY RECOMMENDS:
e. that Recommendation 1d be amended to read as follows: … d. by showing that he was released from active duty on 30 September 2000 and transferred to the Retired Reserves List effective 1 October 2000.

The following additional findings, conclusions, and recommendation were adopted by the Board. A calculation of the applicant's dates of service found that the correct date for the applicant's completion of 20 years of active federal service was 30 June 2000 not 30 September 2000. Therefore, it is proper to show that the applicant was transferred to the IRR effective the date of his release from the KYARNG, with an immediate transfer to active duty in the AGR program, and that he be shown...

The applicant states, in effect, that his VSI payments should be reinstated and his transfer to the Retired Reserve be revoked. On 2 August 2000, the FLARNG notified the applicant that he had completed the required years of service to be eligible for retired pay at age at 60 (20-Year Letter). If a VSI recipient becomes ineligible to continue to serve in the Ready Reserve, through no fault of his or her own, the soldier will be transferred to the Retired Reserve and continue to receive...

On 12 June 2001, this Board directed (AR2001051942) that the applicant’s records be corrected to show that she be considered for promotion to captain by a special selection board under 1996 criteria. At the time of the Board’s 12 June 2001 decision in this case, it was the intent of the Board to make the applicant’s record as administratively correct as it should properly have been at the time she was reappointed as a first lieutenant with a DOR of 14 April 1986 based on award of 3...
