APPLICANT CONTENDS THAT:

After basic military training (BMT) he was assigned to Kelly AFB
were he performed active duty mission support work from 12 Mar 72
to 10 Nov 72 and his active duty service should be described as
such.

statement and a copies of his DD Form 214 and AF Form 7, Airman
Military Record.

The applicant's complete submission, with attachments, is at

12 Mar 72 and credited with 7 months and 29 days of total active
service.

AIR FORCE EVALUATION:

HQ ARPC/DPT recommends denial noting ACDUTRA is defined as "a
tour of Reserve training under orders, which provide for
automatic reversion to the Air Reserve Forces not on active duty

when the specified period is completed. It includes annual
tours, special tours, and school tours." In accordance with AF
Manual 35-5, Separation Documents and General Separation
Procedures, dated 18 June 1971, Table 2, the applicant's DD Form
214 contains a correct entry for Block 17a of the form. The
guidance states the block "OTHER" will be checked and "ACDUTRA"
will be entered for Air Force Reserve and Air National Guard
members completing active duty training.

The complete ARPC/DPT evaluation, with attachments, is at
Exhibit B.

THE BOARD CONCLUDES THAT:

1. The applicant has exhausted all remedies provided by
existing law or regulations.

2. The application was not timely filed; however, it is in the
interest of justice to excuse the failure to timely file.

3. Insufficient relevant evidence has been presented to
demonstrate the existence of an error or injustice. We took
notice of the applicant's complete submission in judging the
merits of the case; however, we agree with the opinion and
recommendation of the Air Force office of primary responsibility
and adopt its rationale as the basis for our conclusion the
applicant has not been the victim of an error or injustice.
Therefore, in the absence of evidence to the contrary, we find no
basis to recommend granting the relief sought in this
application.

_________________________________________________________________

The applicant be notified the evidence presented did not
demonstrate the existence of material error or injustice; the
application was denied without a personal appearance; and the
application will only be reconsidered upon the submission of

newly discovered relevant evidence not considered with this
application.
