Pursuant to the provisions of reference (a), Petitioner, a

former enlisted member of the United States Marine Corps
filed enclosure (1) with this Board requesting that his record be
corrected to show that on 22 December 1999 he was reduced to PFC
(E-2) vice PVT (E-l).

on 20 March 2001 and, pursuant to its regulations, determined that
the corrective action indicated below should be taken on the
available evidence of record.

Petitioner received nonjudicial punishment (NJP) on 22

December 1999 for use of cocaine.

He was discharged under other than honorable conditions on 26
January 2000.

CONCLUSION:
Upon review and consideration of all the evidence of record the
Board concludes that Petitioner's request warrants favorable
action.

Therefore, the Board agrees with the recommendation contained in
the advisory opinion that the record be corrected to show that on
22 December 1999 Petitioner was reduced from LCPL to  PFC vice the
