The applicant and counsel if any, did not appear before the Board.

The Board considered the following evidence:

Exhibit A - Application for correction of military
records
Exhibit B - Military Personnel Records (including
         advisory opinion, if any)

FINDINGS :

1. The applicant has exhausted or the Board has waived the requirement for exhaustion of all administrative remedies afforded by existing law or regulations.

2. The applicant requests that her Record of Service shown on her DD Form 214 (Certificate of Release or Discharge From Active Duty) be corrected.

3. The applicant states that blocks 12a, c, d, and e of her DD Form 214 are incorrect.

4. The applicant’s military records show that she enlisted in the Army Reserve on 19 May 2001 without any prior service. The applicant's DD Form 214 shows that she entered active duty on 7 January 2002 and was separated on 26 February 2002. She was credited with 1 month and 20 days active service and 4 months and 12 days prior active service. She was also credited with 3 months and 6 days prior inactive service.

5. Information provided by the Defense Finance and Accounting System shows that she was on continuous active duty from 7 August 2001 through 26 February 2002 and was returned to her Reserve unit.

CONCLUSIONS:

1. There is sufficient credible evidence of record that the applicant was on continuous active duty from 7 August 2001 through 26 February 2002 after having served 2 months and 18 days prior inactive service and no prior active service.

2. In view of the foregoing, the applicant’s records should be corrected as recommended below.

RECOMMENDATION:

That all of the Department of the Army records related to this case for the individual concerned be corrected by correcting her Record of Service to show that she entered active duty on 7 August 2001, that her net active service was 6 months and 20 days, that her prior active service was 0 months and 0 days, and that her prior inactive service was 2 months and 18 days.
