3. The applicant states, in effect, that her enlistment contract erroneously shows she enlisted for 8 years and 00 weeks.
4. The applicant’s U. S. Army Recruiting Command reservation sheets and Statement for Enlistment United States Army Training Enlistment Program, DA Form 3286-63, show that she enlisted in the Regular Army on 24 January 2002 for 5 years and 00 weeks. Her Enlistment/Reenlistment Contract, DD Form 4/3, item 20a erroneously shows she enlisted for 8 years and 00 weeks.
5. In support of her request the applicant submits a memorandum for record from the U. S. Army Recruiting Command Liaison (USAREC) confirming that the years of service on her contract should be 5 years and 00 weeks.
CONCLUSIONS:
1. There is an administrative error on the applicant’s DD Form 4/3. The evidence of record shows she enlisted on 24 January 2002 for 5 years and 00 weeks, not 8 years and 00 weeks.
2. In view of the foregoing, the applicant’s records should be corrected as recommended below.
RECOMMENDATION:
That all of the Department of the Army records related to this case be corrected by changing the applicant’s DD Form 4/3 dated 24 January 2002, item 20a to show she enlisted for 5 years and 00 weeks.
