         I certify that hereinafter is recorded the true and complete record of the proceedings of the Army Board for Correction of Military Records in the case of the above-named individual. A quorum was present during the further consideration and deliberation. The findings appearing in proceedings dated 1 November 2001 were affirmed. The following additional findings, conclusions, and recommendation were adopted by the Board.

THE BOARD ADDITIONALLY FINDS:

26. On 29 January 2002, the staff of the Board determined that the applicant is also authorized the Combat Medical Badge based on the evidence that he was awarded and performed duties as a 91B4S (Medical Specialist – Special Forces); his DA Form 20 reflects he was awarded the Combat Medical Badge per Special Forces Order 158, Headquarters 5th Special Forces Group (Airborne) 8 June 1968, and he drew superior performance pay as a 91B4S.

THE BOARD ADDITIONALLY CONCLUDES:

8. At the time of the Board’s 1 November 2001 decision in this case, it was the intent of the Board to correct the applicant’s record to reflect all authorized awards. The applicant was awarded the Combat Medical Badge and is entitled to have this award reflected on his DD Form 214.

9. In view of the foregoing findings and conclusions, it would be appropriate to correct the applicant’s records as recommended below.

THE BOARD RECOMMENDS:

That all of the Department of the Army records related to this case be further corrected by adding to paragraph 1b of the Board’s recommendation appearing in the proceedings AR2001059327, dated 1 November 2001, to show that the individual concerned is awarded the Combat Medical Badge.
