2. The applicant requests that his enlistment contract be corrected to show he enlisted in pay grade E-1.
3. The applicant states that his enlistment contract erroneously shows he enlisted in pay grade E-3.
4. On 4 January 2001, the applicant received an approved grade determination for the purpose of enlistment in the grade of E-1 as an exception to Retention Control Point policy. On 17 January 2001, he enlisted in the Regular Army. His Enlistment/Reenlistment Contract, DD Form 4/1, item 8 erroneously shows he enlisted in pay grade E-3.
CONCLUSIONS:
1. There is an administrative error on the applicant’s DD Form 4/1. The evidence of record shows he was authorized to enlist in pay grade E-1, not pay grade E-3.
2. In view of the foregoing, the applicant’s records should be corrected as recommended below.
RECOMMENDATION:
That the applicant’s DD Form 4/1 dated 17 January 2001, item 8 be corrected to show he enlisted in pay grade E-1.
