RECORD OF PROCEEDINGS

AIR FORCE BOARD FOR CORRECTION OF MILITARY RECORDS

IN THE MATTER OF: DOCKET NUMBER: BC-2010-01945

 COUNSEL: NONE

 HEARING DESIRED: NO

___________________________________________________________________

APPLICANT REQUESTS THAT:

His reentry (RE) code of “2C” (Involuntarily separated with an
honorable discharge; or entry-level separation without
characterization of service) be changed to one that will allow him
to reenter the military.

___________________________________________________________________

APPLICANT CONTENDS THAT:

He has matured since serving in the Air Force and respectfully
requests to be provided another opportunity to serve in the Air
Force or any other branch of the service. Serving in the civilian
sector has validated his strong desire to be a part of one of the
most highly respected branches of our military.

In support of his request, the applicant provides a copy his DD
Form 214, Certificate of Release or Discharge from Active Duty.

His complete submission, with attachment, is at Exhibit A.

STATEMENT OF FACTS:

The applicant enlisted into the Regular Air Force on 4 Dec 07. The
applicant was notified by his commander that he was recommending
him for discharge from the Air Force under the provisions of AFPD
36-32, Military Retirements and Separations, and AFI 36-3208, Administrative Separation of Airmen, chapter 5, paragraph 5.22.2.3.
The specific reason for this action was for being academically
eliminated from the Electronic Principles portion of the Satellite,
Wideband, and Telemetry Apprentice Course. The applicant was
advised of his rights in this matter; however, he elected to waive
his right to consult counsel and to submit statements on his
behalf. His commander directed the applicant to be separated with
an entry-level separation and uncharacterized service. The
applicant was discharged on 7 Dec 08 after serving 4 months and
4 days on active duty.

AIR FORCE EVALUATION:

AFPC/DPSOA recommends denial. DPSOA states the applicant was not
recommended for further technical training. The applicant wanted
to leave the Air Force and has not provided any evidence that an
error or injustice occurred.

The DPSOA complete evaluation is at Exhibit C.

APPLICANT'S REVIEW OF AIR FORCE EVALUATION:

A copy of the Air Force evaluation was forwarded to the applicant
on 13 Aug 10 for review and comment within 30 days. As of this
date, this office has received no response.

___________________________________________________________________

THE BOARD CONCLUDES THAT:

1. The applicant has exhausted all remedies provided by existing
law or regulations.

2. The application was timely filed.

3. Insufficient relevant evidence has been presented to
demonstrate the existence of an error or injustice. Applicant’s
contentions are duly noted; however, we are not persuaded that the
applicant has been the victim of an error or injustice. At the
time members are separated from the Air Force, they are furnished
an RE code predicated upon the quality of their service and
circumstances of their separation. After a thorough review of the
evidence of record, we believe that given the circumstances
surrounding the applicant’s separation, the RE code issued was in
accordance with the appropriate directives. Therefore, we find no
basis upon which to recommend favorable action on this
application.

___________________________________________________________________

THE BOARD DETERMINES THAT:

The applicant be notified that the evidence presented did not
demonstrate the existence of material error or injustice; that the
application was denied without a personal appearance; and that the
application will only be reconsidered upon the submission of newly
discovered relevant evidence not considered with this application.
