MEMORANDUM OF CONSIDERATION OF APPLICATION BEFORE THE AFBCMR

SUBJECT:


      Having carefully reviewed this application, we agree with the
recommendation of the Air Staff and adopt the rationale expressed as
the basis for our decision that the applicant has been the victim of
either an error or an injustice.  Therefore, under the authority
delegated in AFI 36-2603, the applicant's records will be corrected as
set forth in the accompanying Memorandum for the Chief of Staff signed
by the Executive Director of the Board or his designee.

      Members of the Board Mr. Michael K. Gallogly, Mr. Billy C.
Baxter, and Mr. James W. Russell III considered this application on 6
August 2002.

MEMORANDUM FOR THE CHIEF OF STAFF

      Under the authority of Section 1552, Title 10, United States
Code, Air Force Instruction 36-2603, and having assured compliance
with the provisions of the above regulation, the decision of the Air
Force Board for Correction of Military Records is announced, and it is
directed that:

      The pertinent military records of the Department of the Air
Force relating to           , be corrected to show that:

           a.  On 30 September 1998, he was ordered to extended active
duty on a Limited Period Recall Program (LPRP) tour for the period
from 5 October 1998 to 4 October 2001, rather than from 5 October 1998
to 30 September 2002, and he was retained on the Reserve Active Status
List (RASL).

           b.  His records be considered for promotion to the grade of
lieutenant colonel by a Special Selection Board (SSB) for the Fiscal
Year 2002 (FY02) Air Force Reserve Lieutenant Colonel Promotion
Selection Board.

           c.  Following the results of the SSB for the FY02 Air Force
Reserve Lieutenant Colonel Promotion Selection Board, he extended his
LPRP tour to 30 September 2002 and was placed on the active duty list
(ADL), and that he was afforded SSB consideration for any ADL
promotion board(s) for which he may have been eligible.

    Based on these statements, we recommend that the duty title be corrected. In his appeal to this Board, applicant has requested that he be considered for ISS, which is the appropriate PME recommendation that should have been indicated on the OPR.
