MEMORANDUM FOR THE CHIEF OF STAFF
Having received and considered the recommendation of the Air Force
Board for correction of Military Records and under the authority of
section 1552, Title 10, United States Code (707A Stat 116), it is
directed that:
The pertinent military records of the Department of the Air
Force relating to XXXXXXXXXX., XXX-XX-XXXX, be corrected to show
that:
a. He was not considered for promotion to the grade of
colonel by Special Selection Board (SSB) for the Calendar Year (CY)
1995B and CY 1997B Central Colonel Selection Boards that convened on
5 August 1999.
b. The Officer Selection Brief viewed by the CY97B JAG
Colonel Selection Board be, and hereby is, amended to change the 1
August 1990 entry under the “Assignment History” section to reflect
the MAJCOM as AFSC rather than AMC.
It is further directed that he be considered for promotion
to colonel by Special Selection Boards for the CY95B and CY97B
Central Colonel Selection Boards with a corrected record as
indicated above and in the attached memorandum for the Chief of
Staff, dated 4 December 1997.

A complete copy of the Air Force evaluation is attached at Exhibit C. The Acting Chief, Appeals and SSB Branch, AFPC/DPPPA, reviewed the application and states that the OPB is sent to each eligible officer several months prior to a selection board. The letter forwarding each eligible officer their OPB specifically outlines each entry on the OPB and OSB and the appropriate offices of responsibility to contact to have this information corrected.
