MEMORANDUM FOR THE CHIEF OF STAFF
Under the authority of Section 1552, Title 10, United States
Code, Air Force Instruction 36-2603, and having assured compliance
with the provisions of the above regulation, the decision of the Air
Force Board for Correction of Military Records is announced, and it is
directed that:
The pertinent military records of the Department of the Air
Force relating to -------------------, , be corrected to show that he
was credited with an additional 13 non-paid Inactive Duty Training
(IDT) points during the retirement/retention year 10 May 1987 through
9 May 1988, resulting in 35 IDT points and 15 membership points, for a
total of 50 points; and, that the period 10 May 1987 through 9 May
1988 is a year of satisfactory Federal service for retirement.

The applicant provided an Air Force Service History that shows he earned 15 retirement points (membership points only) in RYE 12 December 1988. Therefore, the certificate alone is insufficient evidence to show he should be granted active duty points for attendance at airborne training. At this time there is insufficient evidence to show the applicant earned 50 retirement points, or a qualifying year, in RYE 12 December 1990.
For a reserve member to be credited with a year of satisfactory service, 50 retirement points are required.
