MEMORANDUM FOR SAFMIBR

FROM: HQ USAFALTT

1030 Air Force Pentagon
Washington, DC 20330-1030

From our investigation of the facts surrounding this case, the member was going PCS to

California, but his military flight was canceled due to inclement weather. Due to an urgent
turned in his military
medical appointment for his son, who
ticket and purchased a commercial tic
cted to the Traffic
Management Office for his commercial ticket and not the leisure travel office. However neither
his orders nor the passenger service representative accomplished this, Recommend the orders be
corrected to state “Self Procurement of Commercial Airline Tickets Authorized”, and that the
member be reimbursed for his actual expenses up to the government rate.
