RECORD OF PROCEEDINGS
JUL 1 4 m
IN THE MATTER OF:
DOCKET NUMBER: 98-00479
COUNSEL: NONE
HEARING DESIRED: NO
Applicant requests that %he be entitled to the Selective
Reenlistment Bonus (SRB) .
Applicant's submission is at
Exhibit A.
%
The appropriate Air Force office evaluated applicant's request
and provided an advisory opinion to the Board recommending the
application be denied (Exhibit C). The advisory opinion was
forwarded to the applicant for review and response (Exhibit D) .
As gf this date, no response has been received by this office.
After careful consideration of applicant's request and the
available evidence of record, we find insufficient evidence of
error or injustice to warrant corrective action. The facts and
opinions stated in the advisory opinion appear to be based on the
evidence of record and have not been rebutted by applicant.
Absent persuasive evidence applicant was denied rights to which
entitled, appropriate regulations were not followed, or
appropriate standards were not applied, we find no basis- to
disturb the existing record.
Accordingly, applicant's request is denied.
The Board staff is directed to inform applicant of this decision.
Applicant should also be informed that this decision is final and
will only be reconsidered upon the presentation of new relevant
evidence which was not reasonably available at the time the
application was filed.
Members of the Board Mrs. Barbara A. Westgate, Mr. Frederick R.
Beaman 111, and Mr. Steven A. Shaw considered this application on
7 July 1998, in accordance with the provisions of Air Force
Instruction 36-2603 and the governin3 statute, 10 U.S.C. 1552.

SUBJECT: Application for Correction of Military Records
The applicant is requesting a Selective Reenlistment Bonus (SRB) entitlement.
On 1 I Dec 97, the applicant reenlisted to obtain PCS retainability for an assignment. At
the time of her reenlistment, she had no reason to believe her AFSC would get an SRB or to
delay her reenlistment until 1998. On 21 Jan 98, HQ USAFDPXPS announced that her AFSC
would receive an SRE! of Zone A, Mult of %, effective 20 Jan 98 or later. Prior to this date,
many other personnel in the applicant's career field also reenlisted and did not received an SRB.
Further, the applicant is not eligible for the Zone A SRB as indicated. Reenlistment must occur
prior to six years of service in order to qualify. In this case, the applicant reached the six year
service point on 9 Oct 97, thereby negating the SRB entitlement. The applicant has provided no
evidence of error, injustice, or miscounseling. As such, it would not be justified to allow her an
entitlement not provided to others in a similar situation. Strongly recommend the applicant's
request be denied.
