Pursuant to the provisions of reference (a), Subject hereinafter referred to as Petitioner,
filed enclosure (1) with this Board requesting, in effect, that the applicable naval record be
corrected to show Petitioner signed her Officer Appointment Acceptance and Oath of Office
for commissioning into the Naval Reserve on the date she graduated from medical school.

2. The Board, consisting of Mses. Gilbert, McCormick, and Mr.
Petitioner’s allegations of error and injustice on 20 August 2002 and, pursuant to its
regulations, determined that the corrective action indicated below should be taken on the
available evidence of record. Documentary material considered by the Board consisted of the
enclosures, naval records, and applicable statutes, regulations and policies.

3. The Board, having reviewed all the facts of record pertaining to Petitioner
of error and injustice, finds as follows:

Petitioner signed her Officer Appointment Acceptance and Oath of Office for

commissioning into the Naval Reserve effective
graduated from medical school. (NOTE: This action will cause her Pay Entry Base Date
and her effective date of rank to be adjusted, in that, she accepted her appointment into the
Naval Reserve on the date she graduated from medical school. Additionally, anything that
would normally be established as a result of the date accepted in the Naval Reserve will be
updated based on being accepted into the Naval Reserve effective 10 May 1997.)
