This is in reference to your application for correction of your naval record pursuant to the
provisions of title 10 of the United States Code, section 1552.
A three-member panel of the Board for Correction of Naval Records, sitting in executive
session, considered your application on 15 August 2002.

After careful and conscientious consideration of the entire record, the Board found that the
evidence submitted was insufficient to establish the existence of probable material error or
injustice.
The Board concluded that the results of the testing you underwent on 10 April
2002 are
insufficient to demonstrate that you were fit for duty in 1996, or that you were erroneously
given a diagnosis of narcolepsy at that time.
In addition, it noted that regardless of the
diagnosis applied to your condition by the medical and physical evaluation boards, the fact
remains that you were unfit for duty because of the effects of chronic hypersomnolence.
Had you disclosed your history of that condition when you underwent pre-enlistment
processing, it is very unlikely that you would have been permitted to enlist.
In view of the foregoing, your application has been denied.
