Pursuant to the provisions of reference (a), Subject hereinafter referred to as Petitioner,
filed enclosure (1) with this Board requesting, in effect, that the applicable naval record be
corrected to that Petitioner was authorized an incentive allowance for moving his household
goods
(HHGs) under the provisions of the Do-It=Yourself (DITY) Program.
2. The Board, consisting of Messrs.
iti_justice on 6 November 2001 and, pursuant to its regulations,
allegations of error and
determined that the corrective action indicated below should be taken on the available
evidence of record. Documentary material considered by the Board consisted of the
enclosures, naval records, and applicable statutes, regulations and policies.

3. The Board, having reviewed all the facts of record pertaining to Petitioner

That Petitioner’s naval record be corrected, where appropriate, to show that:

15 May 2001 Petitioner executed the appropriate documents whereby he
voluntarily elected to participate in the DITY Program to move a part of his
endorsement dated 16 May 2001 authority for him to participate in the DITY Program was
granted by the appropriate authorities and the proper documents were prepared to show that
government procured equipment for the DITY move was obtained through the appropriate
naval authorities and used by the Petitioner vice that he personally obtained. (NOTE:
Petitioner will forward a copy of this action and a copy of receipts and any paperwork he has
pertaining to his move to the Naval Transportation Support Center, Personal Property Audit
Division, 1667 Piersey Street Code, Norfolk, VA
235 1 l-2806.)

Incentive payment will be based on a constructive weight allowance based on the
weight capacity of the rental truck.
