930831: Unit commander notified the applicant of initiation of separation action                  under the provisions of Chapter 13, AR 635-200, for unsatisfactory                        performance. He was advised of his rights.
 930907: Separation authority waived rehabilitation, and directed transfer to the         Individual Ready Reserve (IRR) with service characterized as honorable.
930925: Applicant was released from active duty.

a.       Propriety:       The applicant has not submitted an issue of propriety and the ADRB                has not otherwise relied upon an issue of propriety to change the                 discharge.

b.       Equity:  The parenthetical numbers below corresponds to the issue numbers                           on the DD Form 293, or in Part VI, Paragraph 1, above.

(1),(2) The issues are rejected. The Board noted that the applicant was discharged for the sole reason of a failure to meet the minimum standards of the Army Physical Fitness Test. The Board also noted the lack of any other derogatory information in the record and the unit commander's recommendation for an honorable discharge. The Board found the reason for discharge was proper and equitable and voted not to change it. The Army Discharge Review Board cannot change or add awards to the DD Form 214. You must submit a DD Form 149 to the ABCMR, Department of the Army, 2nd Floor, 1941 Jefferson Davis Highway, Arlington, VA 22202-4508.
