		DOCKET NUMBER: AR20140008551

THE BOARD CONSIDERED THE FOLLOWING EVIDENCE:

1. Application for correction of military records (with supporting documents provided, if any).

2. Military Personnel Records and advisory opinions (if any).

THE APPLICANT'S REQUEST, STATEMENT, AND EVIDENCE:

1. The applicant requests correction of his DD Form 214 (Certificate of Release or Discharge from Active Duty) to show his rank and pay grade as specialist, E-4.

2. The applicant states his DD Form 214 does not show his rank and pay grade correctly. He needs the correction for future Federal employment opportunities.

3. The applicant provides copies of his DD Form 214 and a DA Form 4187 (Personnel Action).

CONSIDERATION OF EVIDENCE:

1. The applicant served on active duty in the Regular Army from 30 September 2008 through 9 January 2012.

2. The DA Form 4187 shows that on 19 December 2011 he was promoted to specialist, E-4.

3. His DD Form 214 shows his rank and pay grade as private first class, E-3.

DISCUSSION AND CONCLUSIONS:

The DD Form 214 does not reflect the applicant's promotion effective
