DOCKET NUMBER: AR20100023176

THE APPLICANT'S REQUEST, STATEMENT, AND EVIDENCE:

2. The applicant states her DD Form 214 does not show her awards or training.
3. The applicant provides copies of her DD Form 214, course completion certificate, letter of congratulations, and her personal web transcript from the American or Army Council of Education Registry Transcript System.
CONSIDERATION OF EVIDENCE:
1. The applicant enlisted in the Regular Army on 18 September 2007. She completed basic combat training and was assigned to Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri, for advanced individual training.
2. The applicant attended and successfully completed the 20-week Basic Topographic Analyst Course at the National Geospatial-Intelligence College from 4 December 2007 to 9 May 2008.
3. On 17 October 2008, the applicant was discharged due to pregnancy. She completed 1 year and 15 days of creditable active duty.
4. The applicant's DD Form 214 shows:
* item 13 (Decorations, Medals, Badges, Citations and Campaign Ribbons Awarded or Authorized) None
* item 14 (Military Training) None
5. Army Regulation 600-8-22 (Military Awards) provides that the National Defense Service Medal is awarded for honorable active service for any period between 27 July 1950 and 27 July 1954, 1 January 1961 and 14 August 1974, 2 August 1990 and 30 November 1995, and 11 September 2001 and a date to be determined.

* having served a minimum of 9 months of continuous service
* having had active Federal service on or after 1 April 1984
* retroactive issuance is not authorized
DISCUSSION AND CONCLUSIONS:
1. The applicant contends that her DD Form 214 should be corrected to show all of her awards and that she completed the Basic Topographic Analyst Course at the National Geospatial-Intelligence College.
2. The available evidence clearly shows that the applicant completed her initial training, to include the 20-week Basic Topographic Analyst Course. Therefore, her DD Form 214 should be corrected to show this training.
3. The available evidence clearly shows the applicant served on active duty during a qualifying period for award of the National Defense Service Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Army Service Ribbon, and Army Lapel Button. Therefore, her DD Form 214 should be corrected to show these awards.
