THE BOARD CONSIDERED THE FOLLOWING EVIDENCE:

1.  Application for correction of military records (with supporting documents provided, if any).

2.  Military Personnel Records and advisory opinions (if any).


THE APPLICANT'S REQUEST, STATEMENT, AND EVIDENCE:

1.  The applicant requests removal of Permanent Orders 087-216, dated           28 March 2001, from his Official Military Personnel File (OMPF).

2.  The applicant states that he did not successfully complete the Airborne Training Course at Fort Benning, Georgia and the subject orders awarding him the Parachutist Badge should be removed from his OMPF.

3.  The applicant provides no additional documentation in support of this case.

CONSIDERATION OF EVIDENCE:

1.  The applicant’s records show he enlisted in the Regular Army (RA) on
14 September 2000 and he continues to serve on active duty.

2.  The applicant’s OMPF contains Headquarters, U.S. Army Infantry Center Permanent Orders 087-216, dated 28 March 2001, awarding him the Parachutist Badge.

3.  Headquarters, U.S. Maneuver Center of Excellence Orders 184-1, dated 
3 July 2010, revoked Headquarters, U.S. Army Infantry Center Permanent Orders 087-216, dated 28 March 2001, awarding the applicant the Parachutist Badge.



DISCUSSION AND CONCLUSIONS:

The orders showing the applicant was awarded the Parachutist Badge are incorrect.  Therefore, this incorrect order should be removed from the applicant's OMPF.

BOARD DETERMINATION/RECOMMENDATION:

The Board determined that the evidence presented was sufficient to warrant a recommendation for relief.  As a result, the Board recommends that all Department of the Army records of the individual concerned be corrected by:

* removing Headquarters, U.S. Army Infantry Center Permanent Orders 087-216, dated 28 March 2001 from the applicant's OMPF
* not filing the revocation orders in his OMPF
