I certify that hereinafter is recorded the true and complete record
of the proceedings of the Army Board for Correction of Military Records in
the case of the above-named individual.

| |Ms. Catherine C. Mitrano | |Director |
| |Mrs. Nancy L. Amos | |Analyst |

The following members, a quorum, were present:

| |Ms. Linda D. Simmons | |Chairperson |
| |Mr. Jerome L. Pionk | |Member |
| |Mr. John G. Heck | |Member |

Exhibit A - Application for correction of military records.

Exhibit B - Military Personnel Records (including advisory opinion,
if any).

THE APPLICANT'S REQUEST, STATEMENT, AND EVIDENCE:

1. The applicant requests reconsideration of his earlier request to add
the Jungle Training Course to his DD Form 214 (Certificate of Release or
Discharge from Active Duty).

2. The applicant states he had failed to submit the course completion
certificate showing he successfully completed the Jungle Operation Training
course.

3. The applicant provides a course completion certificate and a DA Form
1307 (Individual Jump Record).

CONSIDERATION OF EVIDENCE:

1. Incorporated herein by reference are military records which were
summarized in the previous consideration of the applicant's case by the
Army Board for Correction of Military Records (ABCMR) in Docket Number
AR20060005679 on 21 November 2006.

2. The applicant provides new evidence which will be considered.

3. The applicant enlisted in the Regular Army on 3 January 1979. He
completed basic training, advanced individual training, and basic airborne
training.

4. The applicant provided a course completion certificate showing he
completed the Jungle Operations Course on 12 March 1981 at Fort Sherman,
Panama. Information obtained from the Office of the Deputy Chief of Staff
for Operations, G-3 indicated this course was 3 weeks long.

5. The applicant was honorably released from active duty on 18 December
1981.

6. Army Regulation 635-5 prescribes the separation documents which are
prepared for individuals upon retirement, discharge, or release from active
military service. In pertinent part, it states in-service training courses
successfully completed during this period of service will be entered in
block 14 (Military Education) of the DD Form 214.

DISCUSSION AND CONCLUSIONS:

The course completion certificate provided by the applicant, showing he
completed the [3-week] Jungle Operations Course on 12 March 1981, is
accepted as sufficient evidence to add this course to his DD Form 214.

BOARD DETERMINATION/RECOMMENDATION:

The Board determined that the evidence presented was sufficient to warrant
amendment of the ABCMR’s decision in Docket Number AR20060005679 dated 21
November 2006. As a result, the Board recommends that all Department of
the Army records of the individual concerned be corrected by adding “Jungle
Operations Course 3 weeks March 1981” to his DD Form 214.
