The Board considered the following evidence:
Exhibit A - Application for correction of military records.
Exhibit B - Military Personnel Records (including advisory opinion,
if any).
THE APPLICANT'S REQUEST, STATEMENT, AND EVIDENCE:
1. The applicant requests, in effect, correction of his enlistment
contract to show he enlisted for 3 years and 22 weeks.
2. The applicant states, in effect, that his enlistment contract
erroneously shows he enlisted for 4 years.
3. The applicant provides a Memorandum for Record from Headquarters, U.S.
Army Recruiting Command (USAREC) Liaison at Fort Sill, Oklahoma, dated
4 November 2004; his DD Form 4/3 (continuation of DD Form 4/1
(Enlistment/Reenlistment Document)), dated 28 October 2004; his reservation
sheet, dated 27 September 2004; and his DD Form 1966 (Record of Military
Processing - Armed Forces of the United States).
CONSIDERATION OF EVIDENCE:
1. The applicant's USAREC reservation sheet shows he would enlist in the
Regular Army on 28 October 2004 for 3 years and 22 weeks. His DD Form 4/3
shows he enlisted in the Regular Army on 28 October 2004 for 4 years and
00 weeks.
2. The Memorandum for Record, dated 4 November 2004, from Headquarters,
USAREC Liaison, 95th Adjutant General Reception Battalion at Fort Sill,
Oklahoma states in accordance with Army Regulation 601-210, paragraph 8-
6(f), the term of enlistment, item 20a, Section F of the applicant's DD
Form 4/3, reads 4 years and 00 weeks and is being corrected to read 3 years
and 22 weeks.
3. The Memorandum for Record also contains a statement of understanding
wherein the applicant acknowledged that he understood the available options
under his enlistment, that he wanted the requested change made, and that
the request was made without coercion and for his benefit.
DISCUSSION AND CONCLUSIONS:
The applicant's DD Form 4/3 incorrectly shows he enlisted in the Regular
Army for 4 years and 00 weeks. The memorandum from USAREC Liaison at Fort
Sill, Oklahoma verifies that he enlisted for 3 years and 22 weeks.
Therefore, it would be equitable to amend his enlistment contract to show 3
years and 22 weeks.

BOARD DETERMINATION/RECOMMENDATION:
The Board determined that the evidence presented was sufficient to warrant
a recommendation for relief. As a result, the Board recommends that the DD
Form 4/3, dated 28 October 2004, of the individual concerned be corrected
to show he enlisted for 3 years and 22 weeks.
