2. The applicant requests that his enlistment contract be corrected to show he enlisted for 4 years and 00 weeks.
3. The applicant states, in effect, that his enlistment contract erroneously shows he enlisted for 3 years and 00 weeks.
4. The applicant’s U. S. Army Recruiting Command reservation sheets and Statement for Enlistment United States Army Training Enlistment Program, DA Form 3286-63, show that he enlisted in the Regular Army on 18 October 2001 for 4 years and 00 weeks. His Enlistment/Reenlistment Contract, DD Form 4/3, item 20a erroneously shows he enlisted for 3 years and 00 weeks.
5. In support of his request the applicant submits a memorandum for record from the U. S. Army Recruiting Command Liaison (USAREC) confirming that the years of service on his contract should be 4 years and 00 weeks.
CONCLUSIONS:
1. There is an administrative error on the applicant’s DD Form 4/3. The evidence of record shows he enlisted on 18 October 2001 for 4 years and 00 weeks, not 3 years and 00 weeks.
2. In view of the foregoing, the applicant’s records should be corrected as recommended below.
RECOMMENDATION:
That all of the Department of the Army records related to this case be corrected by changing the applicant’s DD Form 4/3 dated 18 October 2001, item 20a to show he enlisted for 4 years and 00 weeks.
