2. The applicant requests, in effect, that his enlistment contract be corrected to show he enlisted for 4 years.
3. The applicant’s U.S. Army Recruiting Command reservation sheets and his Oath of Extension of Enlistment shows the applicant extended his term of enlistment in the Regular Army for 12 months, thereby changing his term of enlistment to 4 years vice 3 years. His Enlistment/Reenlistment Contract, DD Form 4/3, item 20a shows he enlisted for a period of 3 years.
CONCLUSIONS:
1. There is an administrative error on the applicant’s DD Form 4/3. The evidence of record shows he extended his term of enlistment for 12 months, thereby changing his term of enlistment from 3 years to 4 years.
2. In view of the foregoing, the applicant’s records should be corrected as recommended below.
RECOMMENDATION:
That the applicant’s DD Form 4/3 dated 26 July 2000, item 20a be corrected to show he enlisted for a period of 4 years.
