He was born on 22 August 1956. He completed 12 years of formal education. On 16 December 1989, the applicant enlisted in the Army Reserve for 8 years. The applicant’s enlistment contract and other legal documents shows his SSN as ……... He completed the required training and was awarded military occupational specialty 13B10 (Cannon Crewmember).

On 6 October 1990, the applicant was relieved from active duty training, under the provisions of Army Regulation 635-200, paragraph 4-28 (Completion of Individual Active Duty Training), with an uncharacterized character of service. He had completed 8 months and 6 days of creditable active service and was awarded the Army Service Ribbon. The applicant’s DD Form 214, shows his SSN as ……...

DISCUSSION: Considering all the evidence, allegations, and information presented by the applicant, together with the evidence of record, applicable law and regulations, and advisory opinion(s), it is concluded:

1. In order to justify correction of a military record the applicant must show to the satisfaction of the Board, or it must otherwise satisfactorily appear, that the record is in error or unjust. The applicant has failed to submit evidence that would satisfy the aforementioned requirement.

2. There is no evidence in the applicant’s record which indicates that his SSN is in error. The applicant’s enlistment contract, his DD Form 214 and other legal papers indicates that the SSN on his DD Form 214 is correct.

3. The applicant has submitted neither probative evidence nor a convincing argument in support of the request.
4. Therefore, in view of the foregoing, there is no basis for granting the applicant’s request.

DETERMINATION: The applicant has failed to submit sufficient relevant evidence to demonstrate the existence of probable error or injustice.

BOARD VOTE:

                       GRANT

                       GRANT FORMAL HEARING

                       DENY APPLICATION
