MEMORANDUM OF CONSIDERATION OF APPLICATION BEFORE THE AFBCMR

SUBJECT:

      Having carefully reviewed this application, we agree with the
recommendation of the Air Force and adopt the rationale expressed as
the basis for our decision that the applicant has been the victim of
either an error or an injustice.  Therefore, under the authority
delegated in AFI 36-2603, the applicant's records will be corrected as
set forth in the accompanying Memorandum for the Chief of Staff signed
by the Executive Director of the Board or his designee.

Ellett, and Mr. Michael J. Novel, considered this application on 28
June 2005.

MEMORANDUM FOR THE CHIEF OF STAFF

      Under the authority of Section 1552, Title 10, United States
Code, Air Force Instruction 36-2603, and having assured compliance
with the provisions of the above regulation, the decision of the Air
Force Board for Correction of Military Records is announced, and it is
directed that:

      The pertinent military records of the Department of the Air
Force relating to , be corrected to show that:

            a.   The 23-month extension of his 20 January 1999
enlistment for a period of six years, executed on 2 August 2004 and
approved on 6 August 2004, be, and hereby is, declared void.

            b.   He was not discharged on 20 January 2005, and his
reenlistment in the Regular Air Force on 21 January 2005 for a period
of five years be, and hereby is, declared void.

            c.   He was honorably discharged on 14 January 2005 and
reenlisted in the Regular Air Force on 15 January 2005 for a period of
five years; and, at the time of his reenlistment on 15 January 2005,
he was entitled to a Zone B, Multiple 5.5, Selective Reenlistment
Bonus (SRB).
