MEMORANDUM FOR THE CHIEF OF STAFF

Under the authority of Section 1552, Title 10, United States Code
and Air Force Instruction 36-2603, and having assured compliance with the
provisions of the above regulation, the decision of the Air Force Board
for Correction of Military Records is announced, and it is directed that:

The pertinent military records of the Department of the Air Force
relating to APPLICANT be corrected to show that:

            a.  He was selectively continued on active duty through
31 December 1999 under the provisions of the Title 10, United States
Code, Section 637, by a selection board convened under Title 10, United
States code, Section 611(b), for the needs of the Air Force.

            b.  His application for voluntary retirement on 1 January
2000 was approved by the Secretary of the Air Force; his retirement on 1
January 2000 will, therefore, be considered a voluntary retirement for
all purposes; and, as such, his retirement pay will be based on the pay
rate in effect on the first day of his retirement -- 1 January 2000.
