1.       Pursuant to the provisions of reference (a) Subject, herein f er referred to as Petitioner, filed enclosure (1) with this Board requesting, in effect, that the applicable naval record be corr c ed to remove the Career Status Bonus (CSB)/REDUX election form fro is records.

2.       The Board, consisting of Mr. Dunn, Mr. Pfeiffer, and Ms. H e d, reviewed Petitioner’s allegations of error and injustice on 6 N ye er 2007 and, pursuant to its regulations, determined that the corrective action indicated below should be taken on the available evidence o record. Documentary material considered by the Board consisted of the enclosures, naval records, and applicable statutes, regulations an policies.

3.       The Board, having reviewed all the facts of record pertaining g Petitioner’s allegations of error and injustice, finds as follow s:

a.       Before applying to this Board, Petitioner exhausted al administrative remedies available under existing law and regula r s within the Department of the Navy.

b.       In correspondence attached as enclosure (2), the offic e having cognizance over the subject matter addressed in Petition r’ application has commented to the effect that the request has me it and warrants favorable action.

CONCLUS ION

Upon review and consideration of all the evidence of record, an especially in light of the contents of enclosure (2), the Board finds the existence of an injustice warranting the following correcti v e action.

RECOMMENDATION:

That Petitioner’s naval record be corrected, where appropriate, to:

a.       Remove the CSB Election form (DD Form 2839) from his service records. Petitioner’s initial intent was to elect CSB, however, he changed his election to High 3 and the CSB election form was erroneously entered into his records. No CSB pay entitlements have been received by the member.

b.       A copy of this Report of Proceedings will be filed in Petitioner’s naval record.

4.       It is certified that quorum was present at the Board’s review and deliberations, and that the foregoing is a true complete record of the Board’s proceedings in the above entitled matter.
