1.
Pursuant to the provisions of reference (a), Subject hereinafter referred to as Petitioner,
filed enclosure (1) with this Board requesting, in effect, that the applicable naval record be
corrected to show termination of Survivor Benefit Plan (SBP) spouse coverage.
2. The Board, consisting of Mr.
allegations of error and injustice on 13 November 2002 and, pursuant to its regulations,
determined that the corrective action indicated below should be taken on the available
evidence of record. Documentary material considered by the Board consisted of the
enclosures, naval records, and applicable statutes, regulations and policies.

Prior to his 36th month after commencement of payment of retired pay he submitted
a proprtly executed and witnessed DD Form 2656-2 electing to discontinue participation in
SBP. His request became effective 30 December 2001.
